I Found this by accident whilst looking for information on the Norfolk Broads favourite place in the world! After sailing on the Wherries Hathor, Olive and Norada for
the past two years I was dissapointed not to find anything about them but the whole site is great anyway. Keep up the good work (Also add some info on The Wherries please) I'll be there in
August for the Wherry Regatta at Oulton Broad! (take a look at ' An Introduction to Broadland '. Pete).

Excellent site, great pictures. Spent my honeymoon on the broads 1969 and have been back three times since. This year I'm there during the last week of the World

Great site! Lots of very interesting info. Just "cruising" about on it to get some ideas for my site on the Norfolk Wherry Trust! Keep up the good work. I
think this is the only site I have found that really does have a lot of usefull info on the Broads and isn't just advertising some hire firm or another! :-) (Like mine I suppose!) Andy Wall < andywall@argonet.co.uk > Ludham (Sometimes Manchester!), Norfolk, United Kingdom. Sat, 23 May 1998

Brent Knoll, Somerset, England. Wed, 3 Jun 1998
Found your site while looking for information on the Broads as I will be visiting for the first time shortly (next week!) June 14th 98 - intend cruising in my boat MY
Bellwood leaving Boston (Lincs) on Sunday or Monday and entering the Broads via Great Yarmouth either same day or the next - tide and weather dictating which. Information is very useful as it
links the sea to the Broads - information which seems to be sadly lacking elsewhere. I have printed out all the information and it will accompany me on my holiday - just one comment - the
maps look great on my colour monitor but when I print them out on my mono printer the blue, green and red all merge into black - perhaps a black line drawing would be more appropriate? Apart
from that GREAT WORK, keep on course and I look forward to seeing the other rivers completed. Malcolm Perkins < Ste_Perkins@msn >
Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, UK. Sun, 7 Jun 1998
Thanks Pete for helping me with my GCSE coursework on the Norfolk Broads. Your page was really helpful and I printed out some of your photos to get extra marks for

I have been to the broads many times before and am going again in August. A very usefull site the best of many I have looked at. Stuart < stuart@peaco.force9.co.uk > Wakefield W.Yorks. Tue, 30 Jun 1998
Just found your Web site - I wish we'd found it before we went on our Broads holiday in May and June! It's got very crowded since I first sailed there fifty years
ago, and although we had a great time, I would not want to be there in July or August. Tim
I'm heading off to Wroxham for a week on a narrow boat on Saturday. Your website was helpful and informative. I would have loved to have seen a timetable for the
Upper Bure as I didn't really get any feeling for distances. keep up the good work! Allison. Allison H. < alh@st-and.ac.uk >
St Andrews, Fife. Wed, 19 Aug 1998
Found your page while searching for fishing information. I am not a fishing nut but love fishing on the Broads we have been loads of times and find that lack of local
knowledge reduces the fishing experiences success. I know how much time it takes to develop this type of page but would find a comprehensive fishing section (perhaps written by a local club
etc) would be 'The Icing on The Cake'.You should be congratulated on your page and Norfolk Council ought to be throwing money at you to help your venture. Malcolm Carlisle < jcservice@msn.com > Lincoln, Lincolnshire, UK. Sat, 29 Aug 1998
Just returned from Barton Regatta - fourth time - great site - was looking for Norfolk Broads Yachting Company (supposedly www.nbyco.com) but can't find it. Mike < Mike.marshall@wests-eng.co.uk > Redcar, Cleveland, UK. Wed, 21 Oct 1998
Your excellent site brings back nice memories of our 1997 holiday in the broads. We did a two week cruise in August 1997 and enjoyed the great landscape, the publife,
the beautyful city of norwich and - off course - a game of the canaries. It was a perfect holiday and I hope to come back next year doing the same holiday once again - with one difference -
watching the canaries playing in Premier League. Greatings from Vienna Christian Chris Wiesner < wia@adv.magwien.gv.at >

Peter...you have a great site here. I enjoyed the Broads summer of '98 with my best mate and family. I have never been on such a relaxing holiday and you have
rekindled many wonderful memories! I will be back to visit your site...not to mention another boating holiday soon! Keep up the great work! Amy Tyler < ajtyler@yahoo.com > Seattle, Washington, USA 14 January 1999
Hello pete, I am another avid borads fan since 1960! (&I'm only 38)what a great site I'm new on the web & this is one of my favourite places & the best

Brilliant site! I visited the birthplace of my grandmother for the first time in 1997 and immediately fell in love with Norfolk. I've been homesick for it ever since,
so until I can visit again in person, I get my "fix" by searching Norfolk websites, especially those with photos. Your photos are lovely and very evocative of the Norfolk landscape.
Look forward to returning again to see more! Juanita Hadwin < juanita_hadwin@bc.sympatico.ca >

Dear Peter, What a great site. It is always good to see people making an effort to put the Broads on the map. The photo's are fab - you'll have to come and do some
of the Hunter Fleet for us one day. Thanks for taking the time to do what you do! Very best wishes - keep up the good work Lisa Morgan (Administrator) Norfolk Heritage Fleet Trust.

Nice site Pete! I have sailed many times on the broads, crusing, dinghy and last year in a thirty foot sailer. Love the place! Do you know of anyone else who was on
the broads during the '87 hurricane? I took my wife for her first trip on the broads that year.... it didn't put her off! Thanks again - as an enthusiastic amateur I'd be glad to try to
answer any questions on broads holidays if I can. Regards Tony B. Tony Bennett. < Tony@CRC-Medical.freeserve.co.uk >

Hi pete, how you doing? I'll be visiting the broads again on the 14 aug for two weeks. This time I'm hiring tracking light from herbert woods. Not had one of his
before. She's a good looking boat and plenty big enough, have you had any experience of his boats? I've been many times with brinkcraft even before they were bought out by barnes, and I get
excellent service from them. Are you going there this year or maybe you've been already? I haven't looked at you site for ages, did you pin point that picture of black mill? (yes, thanks
for your help Ian) Speak soon Ian ian knight < ian.knight@gs.com > chertsey, surrey. 27 April 1999.
Hi, I'm 13 and I've just visited the Broads on a school trip, I think your websites great and it really helped me with my research. Hannah Smith Dereham, Norfolk, England. 26 May 1999.
We have been coming to the Broads for the past six years and we love it - especially Coltishall and Ranworth Broad. Breydon Water was a bit scary the first time (!)
when we were in a smaller 27ft cabin cruiser from Fencraft in Brundall, but it was a bit smoother on the 'Adele' from Alexander Cruisers and 'Swan Rhapsody' from Swancraft. Unfortunately we
cannot make it this year due to exam results!! but do not worry we are returning again next year. Thanks for a great site - it brings back good memories!!! peter and fiona finlay. < pfinlay99@yahoo.com > Carrickfergus, Antrim, N. Ireland. 20 June 1999
Best holiday of my life was on the Broads - been toying with the idea of a return later this year and your site just finalised the decision! Good to see the wooden pilings at the railway
bridge at Reedham are still standing despite me managing to crash into them on my last visit..... :-) Andy Falkirk, Scotland. 29 June 1999
I recently visited Ranworth on school geography field trip. I found this site and it has helped lots with my project on Ranworth. THANKYOU:-) Laura R.
Wymondham, Norwich, England. 29 June 1999
Good website. I expect this took a lot of effort. We are returning to the Broads this year on 16th July for what must be my fifth visit. Having an eye for a bargain,
I would strongly recommend Hearts Cruisers of Thorpe St. Andrew, bookable through Richardsons via their permanent "temporary" addition to the brochure. The boats may be a bit old,
but they offer escellent value for money. As I am sure you know, most of their boats were once at Herbert Woods yard at Potter Heigham before the almost annual changes started. So
"Emperor of Hearts" it is this year. Happy Cruising ! Your photos really wetted the appetite... Iain Kirk < iain.kirk@btinternet.com >
Brampton, Cumbria, uk. 10 July 1999
Really nice web pages - have spent the last 11 years annual holiday on the broads with the family, and find something new every year - keep up the good work on the
site and maybe I'll buy 'e a pint of grog.... Cap'n Fishy < fishy@dial.pipex.com > Chelmsford. 29 July 1999

B'ham. 15 August 1999
Just returned from a holiday on the Broads. Took your guide with us and found it a really useful commentary, thanks. One of the best holidays we have ever had apart from the two following
points:- Unable to get under Potter Heigham bridge and up to Hickling and Horsey - water levels too high with the recent heavy rain. Were told it could be up to two weeks before possible!
Perhaps you could add a warning. Also a pity the crossing of the A149 at Stalham is directly opposite the abbatoir and our arrival coincided with that of a lorryload of livestock. A very low
point for the vegetarian in our party! S Wallbridge Littlehampton West Sussex England. 23 August 1999
Excellent web site, very professional & informative, love the photo's. Visited the Broads a few times and we just needed reminding of our favourite places...please keep up the good work!

Haven't been on the Broads for years. Now I long to go again. My only concern is it may be too crowded. When we were young we went every year with our parents. We
always had a great time. We are missionaries working in Jamaica. Always sure of warm weather here. I remember when Blakes and Hoseasons would guarantee that it wouldn't rain in May, and if it
did they gave a refund. That was many years ago. Thanks for the great photos and interesting information . I especially enjoyed the letters. Pastor Hartman Carol Hartman < hartmanb@cwjamaica.com > Bushey Park St Catherine, Jamaica W.I. 17 March 2000

I have never found a good guide to cruising the Broads...until now. We have been visiting the Broads for a few years now, but are
visiting in June with some friends who are 'first-timers'. Your website cruising guide is a terrific introduction to the area...and I've seen a few places we've missed! I suggest you
publicise this site as widely as you can & get it linked in as many places as you can find...I have yet to find such a comprehensive yet easy to read guide & I'm sure others, once
they find it, will agree with me. Philip Dodd, Thorne, Doncaster, S Yorks, UK. 20 May 2002.
I visit Norfolk for my holidays with my family every year. Your site has assisted with planing our holidays and has inspired many a

A nice site. The Broads Authority are endevouring to promote environmentally friendly boating on the Broads and it would be good to
give canoeing a mention with possibly a list of suitable launch/recovery sites. I have some info if you you would to use it. David Cooper Worstead, Norfolk, UK. 29 October 2002
Thank you for this great web page, which I found whilst following up on my third reading this year of Arthur Ransome's "Coot
Club." Being a raw Yank I had never heard of the Broads, actually, until reading my mum's old copy of the book, but now I can't wait to visit and put your guide to practical use.
We have an old canal, 180 miles' worth, near here parallel to the Potomac. I shall think of the Broads, and the Club, each time I visit it.

You have clearly spent a great deal of time compiling a site about an area you love dearly. We regularly hired Broads boats in the
past and a boatyard with very reasonable hire charges attracted us back last year. We enjoyed it so much we rebooked on the spot for June '03! John and Lynda at Maffett Cruisers, Loddon

The best site yet. Congratulations from a broadland regular visitor for many and several years since knee high. I would like to get
in toch with the owners of 'Ladybird', a well known canoe stern yacht out of Herbert Woods, Potter Heigham. Spent many annual holidays aboard when knee high with parents. Would love to see
her again out of family attachment M Hammond Brentwood, Essex. 20 March 2003

Can anyone offer me any help on tracing the history of DIAMOND EMBLEM 1(an Ernest Collins Bourne 35) Tonia Blake. < tonia@ntlworld.com > Leicester, Leicestershire, uk. 31 March 2003 .
You must be congratulated for the hard work and effort that you have obviously put into this excellent site.I have cruised the broads
regularly over the past ten years and have never been able to find such an informative and interesting website relating to the broads area.It is a great pity that the major businesses and
operators around the broads can't take a leaf from your book!Keep up the good work Peter Ashmore Belle Vue, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, UK. 27 April 2003
My partner and i went on a 10 day holiday on the broads last year in June. We read all there was to read on this site and put the
knowledge gained to great use. We emediately said to each other that we must do that again next year. Once you get the bug there is no turning back. We are going for an 11 night hire this
time and plan to spend a bit more time exploring the surrounding areas this time. Can't wait! Thanks for a great informative site. Please keep adding new pictures and news etc. I was
wondering if anything had changed over the winter in regards to dredging any new bridges or modifications to navigable channels etc? James Heward Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK. 09 May 2003

Found your site while trawling desperately for a boatyard now HEARTS at Thorpe has gone - they
have been the only reason that my party could afford to keep coming to the Broads for the last six years. I have been a regular for 40 years now,
but the prices??? Wonder why the Broads is becoming less popular? This could be one damn good reason - look at where else you can go in the
world for less. (except me, I love the Broads too much for that). Any ideas on any independant boatyards that offer reasonable boats for less - PLEASE - I AM DESPERATE ?! John Hodges Pickering, North Yorkshire. May 11, 2003
Very impressed with the river by river guides - any chance you might add the rest before july 19th 2003? Here´s hoping - thanks again

running next year and have found lots of new places to visit by looking at your website. It was nice to see all the new pictures of Wroxham including the new bridge and the new landscaped
areas. Keep up the good work! Suzanne Jones Lees, UK. 02 August 2003
What a superb site! Full of relevant information, all clearly laid out. Brilliant. I love the Broads and the way all the stresses and
worries of everyday life just fade away as you meander down the rivers or across a Broad. Thank you for spending so much time and effort putting this all together. Chris Senior

great site. It's a shame there are no dates with the photos.(Most photo's date from the late
