What to do on the Norfolk Broads 2000
I can highly recommend this book, it contains all the information you're likely to need. The book covers all the navigable rivers and
broads, with descriptions of the surrounding countryside. Each village has its own section with information on tourist attractions,
navigation - available moorings, boatyards, bridge clearances and pin pointed on the accompanying maps the location of local shops
etc. The maps themselves are clear and uncluttered, moorings, telephone boxes and even electric boat charging points are indicated. There are also specially written articles on the Norfolk
Wherry, Drainage Mills, Fishing and Broadland birds.

Outdoor Leisure Map 040: the Broads
Ordnance Survey's map of the Broads is ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside. Large scale 4 cm to 1 km. The navigational maps don't include public footpaths, so this map
is ideal if you enjoy walking. I took one with me last year and found a lovely path leading from Ranworth Staithe through woods and alongside South Walsham Broad, returning via quiet country
lanes back to Ranworth.
The Broads Geoprojects (UK).
This is a excellent map produced with the co-operation of the Broads Authority. This is a double sided map, with tourist information on the reverse side including - gardens, museums,
country parks, boatyards, journey times and lots more. The map includes speed limits, mooring places, bridge clearances and other specific navigational info.
Birds of the Norfolk Broads (Reginald Jones)

Children's Books
 Coot Club (Arthur Ransome)
This is a great children's book, set on the Broads it tells the story of Tom Dudgeon and his new friends Dick and Dorothea. Tom's troubles start when the Hullabaloos on board the motor cruiser
Margoletta moor against a coots nest. His only option to protect the nest is to cast off the cruiser from its moorings. The Hullabaloos are furious - the chase is on to catch Tom. He accepts
an invitation from Dick and Dorothea to join them for a weeks cruise, but can he stay one jump ahead of his pursuers
 The Big Six (Arthur Ransome)
The member's of the Coot Club are in trouble again, and through no fault of their own. George Owden decides to discredit the Coots
by casting off boats wherever the Death and Glories go. Dick and Dorothea again join Tom to help find the culprit.
